The tour
Twenty minutes from the Medina, the Palmeraie holds more than 100,000 palm trees. You follow dirt tracks between gardens, cross a Berber village and ride past the old khettaras, underground channels that have watered the oasis for centuries.
Halfway, a local family welcomes you for tea and warm bread. On a clear day, the Atlas peaks close the horizon. The ground stays flat and the tracks roll well.

Departure from the Medina
Meet at the workshop, then a 20-minute minibus ride to the Palmeraie.

Fitting and first kilometres
Bikes set up, helmets on, and off you go on the tracks.

The Berber village
Ride through an earthen village and its irrigated gardens.

Tea with a local family
A family welcomes you with tea and bread fresh from the oven.

Back along the old channels and the Atlas viewpoints.
